The Oeschger Centre for Climate Change Research OCCR is a decentralized, interdisciplinary Strategic University Centre spanning across five faculties. The cross-faculty organizational form of the OCCR is a prerequisite to adequately address the complex Climate Change challenge in academic research and education in a truly interdisciplinary and holistic manner, and to help providing society with essential and timely scientific information. We believe this is the foundation for evidence-based and informed decision making and sound policy development.
Mirroring the collective expertise of its members, OCCR research develops mainly (but not exclusively) along six thematic Clusters and two technical Platforms:
