Summer School

The Oeschger Centre and the C2SM of the ETH Zurich strongly promote the education of young researchers. To encourage exchanges between Ph.D. students, Post-Docs and leading climate researchers, we have created, in 2002 the "International NCCR Climate Summer School", which has become a highly appreciated opportunity to share scientific ideas and create cross-disciplinary links. With the conclusion of the NCCR Climate it has been renamed Swiss Climate Summer School. It traditionally takes place in the scenic in Switzerland and consists of keynote lectures, workshops, poster sessions and excursions to research sites. The Summer School is open to young researchers worldwide. Participation is very competitive and limited to a maximum of 70.

The Swiss Climate Summer School 2018 will focus on “Earth system variability through time”; this theme has been chosen due to its paramount importance in terms of both scientific challenges and pressing societal concerns.
